HVAC Installation in Leeds at King Pins

Overview of the job

King Pins, a growing leisure and entertainment brand, began transforming a two-storey former retail space at White Rose Shopping Centre, Leeds, into its newest flagship events venue. The site required a complete HVAC solution to meet the demands of a high-capacity, multi-functional environment.

DD Cooling was appointed to deliver installation, ensuring a comfortable indoor climate for guests and staff year round, while meeting tight installation timelines and working in coordination with other ongoing construction activities.

The Solution

To meet the project’s requirements, our team designed and implemented a full climate control and ventilation solution, including:

30m Crane Lift at Sunrise

• A coordinated early morning lift of seven Mitsubishi Electric outdoor AC units onto the rooftop of the shopping centre, completed before trading hours to avoid disruption.

Indoor AC Installation

• A total of 12 indoor ceiling cassette units were installed across the venue to distribute air evenly, ideal for high traffic and customer facing environments.

Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR)

• To ensure fresh air circulation, two Mitsubishi Electric LGH250 units and one LGH100 unit were installed. These systems offer energy efficient ventilation by recovering heat while supplying filtered outdoor air.

Out of Hours Execution

• All rooftop works were successfully completed by 7:30am, demonstrating our commitment to minimising operational disruption for surrounding businesses and the venue construction timeline.

The King Pins venue now benefits from:
